Inspired by Victorian garden designer and craftswoman Gertrude Jekyll, Needle & Thread’s Spring Summer ’23 collection celebrates her creative and differing garden designs. Mixing the wild, natural woodlands and the formal house gardens, this collection is the perfect nod to the English summer. The story celebrates two themes, ‘Summer Dreaming’ and ‘Somewhere over the Rainbow’.
The hero pieces of the season are the Dianella Sequin Gown & Mini Dress. With their complex spiral artwork alongside delicate floral motifs and high shine sequins, it offers the ultimate wow factor. The Primrose Bouquet Ankle Gown and Laelia Long Sleeve Strapless Ankle Gown also feature a classic and contemporary design, with their elevated embroidery and sequin artwork throughout.
Sequins play an important part of the edit, with new playful draped party dresses with cut-out and backless options, adding a fun and youthful element to the collection. Another new style for the brand is the Rainbow edit. Available in gown, mini and strapless versions, these playful designs feature sequinned pastel stripes throughout, offering the ultimate eye-catching piece.
Alongside event-ready styles, feminine knit dresses are updated in sunshine hues, whilst staying true to their timeless designs and luxe quality. The brand continues to expand their focus on using responsibly sourced materials – featuring recycled tulle, upcycled sequins and organic cotton for 75% of the collection. Each piece has been lovingly created to stand the test of time, and this collection features pieces that you will return to time and time again – to celebrate life’s most special moments.
