I love working with Needle & Thread because it feels like I’m living out my childhood dreams of dressing like a princess! A typical ‘mum-life’ day alongside running to castings and jobs means that I live in jeans and t-shirts, so being able to wear dresses that HRH The Duchess of Cambridge has worn is so dreamy. I just feel amazing wearing Needle & Thread... and the team behind the brand are all so lovely and great fun to work with.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE PIECE FROM THE COLLECTION?
My favourite pieces (it’s tough one as each style is so amazing), would have to be the knitted hoodie and jogger sets - purely because they’re gorgeous and comfortable, and you can get so much wear out of them. I also love the cropped cardigans - they’re super cute to dress down with jeans, or style with a skirt for a date night or dinner with the girls.
It’s a real challenge and it’s difficult to say how I balance being a working mum, but somehow it just works. You really must learn to juggle a million balls at once, but it’s also really fulfilling and makes you think what on earth did you spend your 24 hours pre-child doing! I love working because it’s my thing. Working allows me to be me and express myself in other ways than just the ‘mummy’ version of myself. I love my job - and I appreciate it so much more now that I’m a mum because it gives me time on my own, and the luxury of a lunch break without little hands stealing your food!
WHAT DO YOU LOVE THE MOST ABOUT BEING A LONDON BASED MODEL?
I love being a London based model because the opportunities are amazing. The fashion here is super mixed and I’m proud to be a part of it. I also love working in the city because of the good vibes from the great mix of people I get to meet and work with.
WHAT IS YOUR NUMBER ONE FASHION RULE?
My number one fashion rule is ‘if you like, wear it’. We all have our own personalities that are attracted to our own individual styles, and so if you really love something you need to be true to yourself and wear it. Don’t worry if it’s too much for people, or if others won’t like it - we spend so much time worrying about fitting in that we forget nobody cares about what you’re wearing, because they’re also worried about themselves! So, stay true to your style and wear what you love.
I feel most confident after a workout. Confidence for me comes from my mind and how I’m feeling rather than what I look like in the mirror. If I’ve achieved a personal best on a run or if I’ve just completed a strength class and lifted weights, that make's me feel super strong. I feel like I can take on the world after that.
